Courage to Quit

If you don’ t like to work quit…replace it with DISENGAGE.

What do you do when your business is just not moving forward? Sometimes, we get stuck with a business plan that no longer works. Many of us who are in business as entrepreneurs lose our way. I know I have often been caught in a whirlwind of trying to everything to everybody. When you enter the business arena as a solo professional, you are putting everything on the line in order to succeed. You don’t have the luxury of staying stuck or losing your way. Already you are anxious to enter the marketplace in a big way. Many of us are willing to try almost anything to experience a real financial impact. This comes with a price.

Your brand integrity must be the guiding force behind your business plans,ventures and decisions.

Listen, you must find a good balance because it’s important for you not to give up on something too easily. Every business has sunk costs, it is inevitable.  So don’t worry too much about those costs if the investment is going to give you a R.O.I. that is worth fighting for. If not, cut your losses and move on.

For example, you bought a machine to automated your delivery process. Now a few later, the machine is obsolete and no longer serves its’ purpose with efficiency. On top of that it often requires frequent and costly repairs. As a conscientious entrepreneur, do you continue to invest more more in the machine because of the initial $10,000 purchase price? Or do you cut your losses and upgrade machines or outsource in spite of the initial $10,000 investment? Either way, you don’t get that $10,000 back.
